We the members of the Veterinary Nurses Association
of South Africa resolve at all times:

honour our profession and abide by the prescribed code of ethics;

endeavour to nurse our patients with skill and compassion and promote
their ongoing health and well-being;

promote the image and interests of the veterinary nurse both within
and outside the veterinary field;

promote the association whenever possible and encourage communication
and fellowship amongst its members.

Excellence
in Veterinary Nursing
VNASA introduced this award
in 1999 with the aim of
encouraging all veterinary nurses to strive for excellence and to
be recognized for the vital role they perform in caring for clients and their
animals and promoting the human-animal bond. It is held in the same
year as the biennial congress, however this year
is has been postponed to coincide with the World Veterinary Congress
in Capetown 2011. The Award recipient’s prize is a
sponsored trip to an international veterinary congress.
This
award is currently sponsored by Hills
The
Annual Veterinary Nurses Month
was
introduced in 2009. Nurses working
in all fields of the profession are encouraged during this month to make
an effort to promote the profession of Veterinary Nursing with innovative
projects, competitions and displays. Any
proceeds collected from these are donated to charity.
Prizes are awarded for best display, most innovative concept or
event, best photo promoting our profession and one overall winner.
